The story of this handsome bachelor blown away by a lady has been heartbreaking for several of his lady fan-followers.
As a dancer in Shiamak Davar's institute, Kapoor made uncredited appearances as a background dancer in the films Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) and Taal (1999).
Shahid started his Bollywood carrier with a lead role in Ken Ghosh's romantic comedy Ishq Vishk (2003). The movie went super hit and so was Shahid. He had three film releases in 2006. He starred opposite Kareena Kapoor in '36 China Town' and 'Chup Chup Ke' and played a prospective groom opposite Amrita Rao in 'Vivah', a commercially successful family drama from director Sooraj Barjatya.
Mira Rajput, the 23-years old beautiful lady, was born on 7 September 1994 in Delhi. Her classmates define her as a shy and an intelligent person. She has been a bright student.
And here begins the love story...
Shahid and his father Pankaj Kapoor are followers of the religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas, and Mira's parents shared the same faith. Mira was a family friend and the two met on a few occasions.
Shahid didn't want to get married to a Bollywood actress. He felt that it would give him an outside perspective and not create complications that come with getting together with another star. His parents were keen that Shahid gets married as they thought it was the perfect age and time for him to find a life partner. Shahid too felt it was a good time for him to settle down. Shahid, who had met Mira on several occasions, decided to take things forward with her.
Shahid did fly down to Delhi to meet Mira a few times. The two connected, but Mira, we hear, was a little skeptical about taking it forward because of the age gap of 12 years and Shahid's star status. But after several conversations with Shahid, Mira felt that he was the right one.
Shahid did not want to reveal his relationship to the media before the formal engagement. Shahid, Mira, and their families wanted to give it some time before making an announcement. But since the cat is now out of the bag Shahid had to confess the truth. Apparently, Mira was in Mumbai recently and the photographers saw her, and tried to click a picture of her but failed. She has already met Shahid's close friends.
Shahid and Mira tied the knot in a low-key gurudwara wedding on July 7, at a friend’s farmhouse on the outskirts of Delhi. The ceremony was said to be attended by around 40 guests including close family and friends. For the exchange of vows, Mira Rajput kept it simple in a pink and green churidar suit with a heavily embellished dupatta over her head with maang tika. Shahid, on the other hand, wore a white kurta-pajama with an orange turban.
Post the wedding rituals, Shahid and Mira posed hand-in-hand for photogs outside the reception venue – The Oberoi, Gurgaon. Mira made a beautiful bride in a delicate rose-hued Anamika Khanna lehenga with just the right amount of shimmer and shine that complimented Shahid’s cream-white sherwani suit.
The celebrations were sort of royal as Mira was a stunner in a gorgeous couture outfit with sheer that had an intricate cutout border that was similar to Sonam Kapoor’s pale pink Cannes outfit from last year, also by designer Anamika Khanna.
The reception invitation card had been designed by Delhi-based designer Ravish Kapoor and was a beautiful midnight blue with an elegant chrome plate inside, containing the details. This chrome plate was removable and was a security check for the guests.
The reception now was a lavish event with several important celebrities from different domains. The couple looked so very sweet together.
Love stories like this just do happen with the fairytales like the pairs made in the heaven.
